UPSC Civil Services IAS Mains Online Form 2026

The Window to update and/or confirm the requisite details in the common application form for Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2026 (written part) has been made available on the Commission’s website from 19.06.2026 to 29.06.2026 (18:00 Hrs). All the candidates qualified for Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2026 are mandatorily required to login to the portal (https://upsconline.nic.in) and update and/or reconfirm their details etc. therein and submit the Application Form, failing which, such candidates will not be allowed to participate in further stages of the Examination.

Eligibility

Indian Administrative Service (IAS)— Candidates with a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university in India are eligible for this examination.
Indian Forest Service (IFS)— Candidates with a bachelor’s degree in subjects like Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Zoology, Agriculture, or equivalent qualifications can apply.

How to Apply

Step 1— Visit the official UPSC website
Step 2— Log in using your Registration Number/Roll Number and Password/Date of Birth
Step 3— Click on the “Civil Services (Main) Examination 2026 – Detailed Application Form (DAF-I)” link
Step 4— Fill in personal information, educational qualifications, category details, service preferences, cadre preferences, language papers, and examination centre preferences
Step 5— Upload the required documents in the prescribed format, if applicable
Step 6— Preview the application carefully and verify all entered details before final submission
Step 7— Submit the DAF-I and complete the fee payment (if applicable)
Step 8— Download and print the confirmation page for future reference
